Reports from Bosnovice and Sosnovice describe violent clashes between miners and troops at the Katharinin works. Casualties are reported with eight battalions of infantry and cavalry plus Cossacks deployed to quell rioting.
Davidson confesses to Pinkerton agents that he aided in the Canadian Pacific hold-up near Mission Junction last October and implicates a miner named Ball hiding in Wyoming. A third, unnamed leader of the Northern Pacific raid is also tracked, with a large reward posted for capture.
Yale reports 2004 athletic year receipts of 106 996 and expenses 75 174, net 31 222 after 9 500 Yale field improvements. Of profit 21 222, 14 630 funded repair of stands for the Yale Harvard game last November. Receipts exceed 2003 by 13 685. excluding field maintenance, spending fell 4 708 from last year.
The Dresden Journal reports Dr. Koerner, at King Frederick Augustus command, has gone to Florence to attend Countess Montignoso formerly Princess Lauice of Saxony. The note says Countess Montignoso has a new love interest and that the king plans to withdraw infant Anna Monica from her influence.
Washington reports Justice Harlan denied a writ of error for J Samuel McCue ex mayor of Charlottesville Va on federal grounds. Charlottsville notes say execution set for about 7 am tomorrow after his farewell to family. He speaks of his approaching end as a grateful release.
Information from the board of foreign missions reports that several Presbyterian bodies have united. The United Church of America and Canada groups join with Dutch Reformed and Irish Presbyterian factions, forming a network with 33 presbyteries, 222 churches, and a total community of 72 083.
The senate debated the agricultural bill through the day but failed to complete it. Gorman and Spooner argued that distributing appropriation bills among committees raised government costs. Hale conceded rising appropriations, blaming what he called the war craze.

Raleigh N C February 9 Tomorrow the Supreme Court at Atlantic Coast will operate a new connection. The railroad must run a special train ordered by authorities to establish a daily link with passenger trains at Selma on the Southern Railway, enabling connections with the Caroling Odin line.

Washington reports Ambassador Porter believes he has found the remains of John Paul Jones in Paris. Four years earlier a crew indicated Jones died in Paris and was buried in a small urban cemetery, later abandoned and built over. The case rested at the state department until recently.

Chicago police interrogated Johann Hoch, the bigamist and murder suspect, after his arrival. Five women claimed to be his wives. Hoch admitted ten marriages and said he planned suicide with arsenic found in a fountain pen. Names of eight wives were listed with places and dates.
