The Propeller St Albans foundered after taking on water in ice near the breakwater. Twenty people and five passengers aboard were rescued as boats were launched, with four men and four women among the crew and passengers. Augusta Ga Abe Twiggs a colored man was lynched in Burke county on Thursday night. He testified against his brothers Mose and Frank in a recent murder trial and it is supposed he was killed by other negroes.
