Wyoming Steers Hit 6.15 as Denver Market Holds Steady
Close to 2,000 cattle were on hand at the yards in Denver with active trade though Eastern markets reported softer prices. Beef steers from the Hunter ranch sold at 6.15, other steers 4.00 to 4.90, cows 3.25 to 3.75, killers 2.65 to 3.25, and veal calves up to 65.00. Sheep trade was strong with Western slope lambs at 6.25 and San Luis valley lambs at 4.00 to 5.90.

Third Track to Be Built Near Cheyenne To Eliminate Wide Curve
Union Pacific plans a Carr Borie cut off ready by December 27 to route freight between the west and Denver without Cheyenne use. A five mile third track will connect Carr Corlett with Cheyenne, allowing Denver trains to reach the city on their own line and removing the west Cheyenne curve with heavy grading needed to straighten the route.
