Washington reports that President Roosevelt will not seek a third term. A White House statement confirms he remains committed to his 1904 pledge not to run again, issued after his election. The note came as Republican leaders prepared for their national convention.
Senator Jeff Davis of Arkansas delivers a forceful maiden speech in which he attacks trusts, calls for cutting the president’s salary, and argues the office can be lived on far less. He rebukes the trust magnate virus and asserts the law’s primacy over individuals.
News of a new night riders raid on Hopkinsville reached Gov. Wilson by telegram. He ordered a company of national guards to proceed immediately to Hopkinsville to confront the threat.

In Casper Wyoming on December 11 a man named Stoka sought county aid claiming destitution. Sheriff Sheffner and the county attorney arranged jail lodging and meals at public expense. A search found $90 in cash and a $787 certificate of deposit on him. He did not receive aid and was revealed as owner of a large Kansas farm.
New York Dec 11 The National League has reelected Harry C Pulliam president for another year. His selection was unanimous.
Harry Orchard testified in Boise as part of George Pettibone's murder trial for ex-Governor Frank Steunenberg. He repeated earlier statements and added details on Pettibone's alleged involvement, including claims Pettibone bought rifles in 1904 and shipped them to Coeur d’Alenes in 1895 riots and showed Orchard how to use Pettibone dope at his Cripple Creek home.

The thirty round match between Johnny Murphy and Johnny Frango Hehe weight boxers in Colma near San Francisco ended in a draw.
