Americans Triumph in Dublin Baseball Match 12-6
In Dublin on August 26, nine Americans from both clubs faced six Irishmen aided by three Americans. The Earl of Kensington played. Ireland allowed five outs per inning. The Americans won twelve to six as the clubs prepared to sail to Queenstown en route to America. Halifax noted the silver cup for cricket was presented to the American cricketers by the Mayor this afternoon.

In Pittsburgh on August 24 the Democratic state convention failed to name a Supreme Court judge after five ballots. The committee announced they could not report before tomorrow and the body adjourned by motion. W B Ross received eight votes on the final ballot, about one third of the total.
