Half Forgotten Family Troubles Drive Man to Drink
David McAllister, a brick mason, returned from Omaha to locate his nephew D M Martin who vanished from Denver. Martin, found in North Platte in a penniless, intoxicated state, carried $3 500 cash. McAllister placed him in the Keeley Institute after depositing the money in a North Platte bank. Martin recalls nothing of the journey, saying family strife and his wife desertion drove him to drink. he owns mica mines in Idaho.
