A West bound Northern Pacific passenger train was held up at midnight near Sand Point Idaho. Five bandits forced the engineer to move the engine and baggage car for fifteen minutes while attempting dynamite. Two other robbers kept passengers inside the coach without harming them.
Cripple Creek reports one man killed and another fatally wounded when a cage overturned at the Elkton mine. Charles Sullivan 22 died. G W Baugh 25 suffered multiple injuries including a broken set and an amputation but expected to recover. General Knox for Europe. New York report notes Attorney General Knox’s travel plans to sail for Europe aboard the Oceanic.
Herbert Hill & Co., Chicago brokers, were placed in receivership today with liabilities around two hundred thousand dollars.
Ten warrants issued for the arrest of President Burt and Employment Agent Arnett of the Union Pacific. They are charged with assaulting and falsely imprisoning ten men brought from Indianapolis to take striker jobs. The men were held in cars for twenty four hours after arrival.

J B Hathaway was arrested yesterday at Laramié on a mayhem charge and bound over to the district court in $600 bond. Victim Harry Mills and Hathaway, both employed at Millbrook ranch, fought and Hathaway bit Mills on the lip, taking out nearly the entire lip. The piece was found and given to Mills’ physician.
Tomorrow at 9 30 North Platte meets Cheyenne Indians in a Union Pacific League clash at Athletic Park with a second game Thursday. Both teams claim recent wins in a two year heated rivalry. W B Downey suffers a broken collar bone from a fight with tramps in Laramie, details say.
