Miss Evelyn Tanner of Cokeville Wyoming dies on a train near Granger while being sent to Salt Lake City hospital after a horseback riding accident. She was 16, daughter of Mrs. Lucy Tanner, and her funeral was held in Salt Lake City.
Rawlins reports George Ehler the state’s richest inmate leaped from the top gangway to the cement floor, breaking his neck and dying. He, about 55, owned a Fremont county ranch and was serving a life term for murder. His wife seeks a pardon as he seals a goodbye letter before the fall.
Mrs. Jessie M. Smiley widow of a Lynn shoe maker claims a $20,000,000 Scottish estate from her mother Lady Catherine Laird. She plans to found a school for occult science with funds held until the youngest son, James, comes of age. She will travel to Scotland in November.

John Hughes of Holmes Wyoming is reunited with his son Private William Hughes of the Fifteenth United States Infantry after twenty four years with the army maneuvers at Camp Emmet Crawford Crow Creek Reserve Wyoming. The father had left the infant son with relatives in the east and believed him dead until recently when a soldier named Hughes was identified with the Fifteenth Infantry and the reunion occurred. The son plans to visit Holmes on leave.
