Forest Road Plans Joint Venture With Forest Service
The Office of Public Roads of the Agriculture Department will cooperate with the Forest Service to draw up comprehensive road and trail systems for national forests. An engineer will survey several forests this summer to draft plans guiding future construction and, when roads are not feasible, develop trails to be upgraded later. Existing roads trails and lines aid fire protection and public use, and expanded work will increase forest usefulness to nearby regions.
