Reform MP Jay Hill condemned the Liberal government for a vague Throne Speech with no concrete plan for farmers. He cited Canada's 8.7 percent GDP from agriculture and 2 million agri jobs, noting $25.8 billion farm debt and 30 percent of farms in marginal condition, urging decisive action. Barb Shirley argued action requires provincial disaster declaration and joint federal effort. Hill touted Reform’s plan for broad tax relief for all Canadians, including farmers, after budget balance.
