Provincial funds boost rural doctor recruitment in Chetwynd and Hudson's Hope
The Ministry of Health announced new provincial dollars totaling 1.477 million for South Peace Health Council and 1.479 million for North Peace to recruit and retain doctors. Starting Sept 1, contracts can be offered retroactively to June 22 with 60 thousand dollar annual retention pay and 10 thousand dollar signing bonuses, plus on-call payments. The package for Chetwynd totals 422,100 with 60k retention per doctor and 10k signing bonus. Hudson's Hope doctors gain 59,700 annually plus 10k signing bonus and 60k retention.
