Field officer to visit South Peace District in 1984
Field officer Jim Smith, Regional Field Executive of the Boy Scouts of Canada for B C and Yukon Council, will visit the South Peace District on October 23, 1984. The District Council hosts a dinner meeting in Dawson Creek after which all sections may meet Mr. Smith. Orientation and Training for new leaders is set for Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge on September 29. Part 1 Woodbadge training occurs at Gwillim Lake on January 18, 19 and 20 open to all sections.

Terry Fox Run kicks off with 30 participants in I.G.A. lot
The fourth annual Terry Fox Run began at the I.G.A. parking lot on Sunday September 23 with 30 participants and many volunteers including the C.R. 12 class assisting. Weather was chilly but dry as $567.75 was raised for cancer research. Three members John Randall Lois Lutz and Hope Morgan will attend Service Team Training October 12-14 in Prince George at Camp Hughes. Lois Lutz named Assistant District Commissioner Cubs. Registration totals reach 145 with Tumbler Ridge joining Beavers Cubs and Scouts.

Louis Riel meets in Chetwynd to form BC chapter
Louis Riel Association moves to form a local B C chapter in Chetwynd with a steering committee appointed on September 18. A local assembly is planned for October 1 at 7 p m at the Tansi Friendship Centre with Fred House as guest speaker. District reports and future plans due to David Irwin by October 5. The Canadian Jamboree is slated for July 1985 with limited spots for boys.
