Charlie prefers shallow paddling. A belted kingfisher and a young osprey fish nearby while bald eagles perch on snags. Robins, pine siskins, chickadees feed on fruit. bears may eat fruit when present. Squirrels hoard fungi, birds use nesting crevices, and mice, voles, shrews, and pack rats roam seeking winter quarters. Peppers called Critter Ridder deter some critters. A giant wasp nest hangs from a poplar by the lake. June has lived here over 20 years.
