Investment to Spur Demand for BC Forest Products
The British Columbia government plans a two million dollar allocation to boost demand for primary forest products, part of a twenty million dollar sector diversification and marketing commitment. Five projects received funding through the Forestry Innovation Investment program, with partners including Wood Promotion Network and regional lumber associations, targeting markets in North America, Europe, and Asia. Funding, announced by Forests Minister Michael de Jong at a Northern Forest Products Association meeting, supports promotional and educational efforts and marks the rollout of the new marketing plan launched in March.
