Peace River generating projects near $400 million upgrade
At Gordon M. Shrump Generating Station BC Hydro moves to replace six turbines from the 1960s with a $262 million turbine upgrade. The plan adds 177 gigawatt hours annually while water use stays constant. Crane upgrades worth $5.7 million must finish before rotor rehabilitation, with the $22 million project slated to align with turbine work. Units 1-5 replacement targets November 2012 to mid 2015.
