Peace counsellor charged with sex assault in Fort St. John
Dr. Michael Anthony a Fort St. John based peace counsellor is charged with sexual assault and professional improprieties. Police say a female client in her mid thirties reported ongoing contact from January to April 2010. An arrest warrant was issued September 9 and he was arrested without incident. He has been released on court conditions. The BC College of Social Workers had previously cited Anthony in 2009 for a separate matter while he was licensed. The college asserts jurisdiction over pre license matters and may proceed with hearings as RCMP continue their probe into his full professional history including employment at Northern Lights College Fort St. John ending in 2002.
