Confusion leads to man stranded after wrong 911 call

In Tumbler Ridge a misrecorded 911 dispatch left a man with a punctured bladder and broken pelvis stranded overnight. Two calls were mistaken as the same incident, misdirecting help until the next day. Rescue arrived and he was transported to Dawson Creek hospital.

Civic Awards nominations urged by Sept 29 in Chetwynd

The Chamber of Commerce reminds residents to submit Civic Awards nominations by Sept 29 for the Oct 13 ceremony at Cottonwood Hall. Categories include Citizen of the Year and Youth of the Year among others, with all nominees receiving a certificate of appreciation and a complimentary wine and cheese reception. Local talent will perform, including quilters, an Elvis impersonator, a school choir and a dance troupe.
