Road plans spark debate over Jackfish access and 15 km limit
At a BC Hydro meeting in the Pomeroy Hotel transportation leaders and residents discussed keeping Jackfish Road beyond 15 km, with Tony Bennett of the Ministry saying maintenance past the limit is not planned. Reg and Mona Willis pressed for local access while BC Hydro projected traffic, including 420 vehicles per hour on Highway 97 by 2015, and options such as CN Rail loading to cut road use.
