Cross border child safety seats illegal for use in Canada
The BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation warns parents that importing child safety seats from the United States or other countries is illegal in Canada unless they meet CMVSS standards. Non compliant seats carry risks including confiscation, fines, voided insurance, and possible charges. For guidance contact ChildSeatInfo.ca, ICBC, or Transport Canada.
