BC Gas seeks 15 percent cut in gas charges
BC Gas asked the BC Utilities Commission to approve a 15 percent reduction in the commodity charge starting October 1. If approved, residential bills would fall about 10 percent and commercial small industrial customers 11 to 13 percent, with an average homeowner saving about 145 dollars yearly on a 1450 dollar bill. Savings depend on usage. President John Reid cited falling natural gas prices and cautioned markets remain volatile.
