CCA pushes drought tax relief and stewardship awards
The CCA passed a resolution to lobby the federal government for a tax deferral up to three years for producers forced to curtail cattle numbers by drought, expanding beyond breeding stock. It also announced Environmental Stewardship Awards to Guichon Ranch Ltd. and Pound-Maker Adventures Ltd. for habitat and resource management, plus Pfizer funding for beef promotion and a consumer satisfaction study showing 80 percent approval of home cooked beef.
