Council Deliberates EDC Finance At September Meeting
At a regular council session on September 7 the Economic Development Centre faced criticism over finances and reports. Letters on the Forestry Office relocation to Dawson Creek were received from Premier Harcourt and Minister Miller. A vandalism incident involving Jack Andersen’s Zodiac boat was discussed, along with a sympathetic response to curb such incidents. A meter installation at Hi-way laundromat was proposed to compare water use with a car wash. The council reviewed a proposed one percent hotel tax levy for tourism and arranged a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce to discuss its use. A Tribute to Frank Oberle Committee thanked the district for support, with plans to send thank-you letters.
