North East coal development advances with tunnels and parks
Construction ramps up across the Peace region as CN Rail upgrades its mainline from Prince George to Prince Rupert and new facilities at Ridley Island are cleared. Two new parks Monkman and Sukunka Falls will protect natural heritage while 53000 man years of work are projected during the building phase. A regional consultation process, led by Elizabeth Cull, will involve planning groups to guide facilities and services.
