Investment Drives Big Telco Expansion In B C
B C Tel plans major capital outlays to upgrade and expand service in the Chetwynd area and the Tumbler Ridge townsite. Over three years the company invested more than $4 million in Chetwynd, including $1.5 million for an electronic office and a $3 million shopping complex linked to expanded lines. By next year a new 3000-line permanent exchange will replace a 1200-line temporary setup at Tumbler Ridge with $2 million committed for basic service.
