Summer of ’87 Tourist Bureau volunteers lift community spirits
During the Challenge 87 program students Gwen Cardinal Nancy Yee and Elaine Mcawny served as tourist counsellors at the Chetwynd Tourist Bureau. They aided visitors, led a treasure hunt and rode on a parade float. Floods brought 300 tourists for a night and locals exchanged varied comments while Barb Shirley and Haldis Sankey supported operations. The guest book recorded playful and curious notes from visitors and nearby towns.
