World economic recovery peaks in 18 months in Europe
Recovery in the last 18 months is peaking this year with little prospect of a drop in unemployment in industrialized nations. Western Europe will maintain modest growth in the near term, not enough to reduce joblessness, say a group of economists at a conference in Alpbach Austria led by Bank of America's Robert Heller.

Outlook grim for Canada's jobless numbers rise
Ottawa reports Canada’s 1.3 million unemployed face a deteriorating outlook. Statistics Canada notes growth driven by export demand is not broad enough to spark wide investment, with modest first-half growth slowing further. Exports to the United States and elsewhere may lift some activity but reduced export demand will curb hiring and wage gains. Household incomes are not set to rebound soon.
