Downtown revitalization concept plan for Chetwynd
The Chetwynd Advisory Committee met on October 24 1984 with 16 members from merchants owners Chamber of Commerce District and the public. Stanley Associates and Jay Lazzarin Associates were retained to draft a concept plan under the British Columbia Downtown Revitalization Program. The plan aims to boost pedestrian friendly downtown traffic and attract more businesses with a mid December deadline.

The Prince George-Peace River federal riding is allocated 972000 for the 1984 85 regular Canada Works program. Groups and individuals can apply for wages and expenses to aid community benefit and economic recovery. Section 38 funds cover some expenses while employees receive a topped up 315 weekly US payment. Full postal service resumes at Moberly Lake Post Office
Residents will have full postal service again starting November 5 1984 after the Trading Post fire on May 12. The new Post Office is at Parker's Gun Shop with Rosemary Parker as Postmaster, reviving a service she operated 1960 to 1975.

Canada Post Extends Price Freeze Through March
Canada Post will keep postal rates frozen at least until the end of March, announced by agency president Michael Warren in Winnipeg. The February 1982 rate hike raised first class within Canada to 32 cents. Warren also said the post office will scrap its joint venture with Consumers Distributing, the country’s largest mail order firm.
