Break-ins and drug investigations keep police busy
Chetwynd police executed a Narcotic Control Search Warrant at Ruth Knott and Ry Stimpson on October 26 1996 with RCMP Dog Services from Fort St John seizing cocaine marihuana and drug paraphernalia valued about 1000 and nearly 300 in cash. Both charged with Possession for Trafficking and Possession of a Narcotic and released pending December 12 1996 court appearance. Separately over the past two weeks area residents reported numerous thefts through unlocked windows or doors with loose change taken. RCMP charged 19 year old Teddy Andrew Whyte with six counts of Break Enter and Theft two counts of Possession of Stolen Property and one count of Attempted Break-in with court appearance November 7 in Chetwynd Provincial Court.
