Forest Ministry raises Tree Farm Licence 48 cut to 514000 m3

The Ministry of Forests raises the annual allowable cut for Tree Farm Licence 48 to 514000 cubic metres, with 460000 for coniferous leading stands and 54000 for deciduous leading stands. The change, effective December 31, applies to areas around Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, and Dawson Creek. Canfor notes greater certainty and reduced market purchases, while deciduous rights remain with the ministry.

PRRD studies boundary expansion impacts for Chetwynd area

The Peace River Regional District will study how boundary expansion affects the District of Chetwynd and Electoral Area E. The report, due October 24 after the board presentation, aims to show if expansion meets its goals for the member municipality and rural residents with an objective view of outcomes.
