Municipal Affairs Minister Bill Ritchie unveiled a project to evaluate regional district performance standards. He announced that former Minister Dan Campbell, who introduced regional districts, has agreed to participate.
The Chetwynd Recreation Department and RCMP propose a Halloween Party at the Legion Hall on Monday October 31. Sessions run 6pm to 7 30pm for under 12 and 7 45pm to 1am for ages 13 17.

The Chetwynd Volunteer Fire Department fought a blaze at the Jim Holland home in Wales Estates last Thursday around 6:00 pm. Firefighters found extensive smoke and heat damage confined to the hallway and stairwell after entering through the garage. One fireman was hospitalized for smoke inhalation but released later. cause is undetermined.
Chetwynd division of Canford presents a Tree Farm Licence proposal to the British Columbia Minister of Forests. The Crown would retain land ownership while Canford gains exclusive rights over a 819 000 hectare area within the Peace Timber Supply Area, promising long term community benefits.
