District seeks NDIT grant to relocate Visitor Centre in Chetwynd
The District of Chetwynd applies for an NDIT economic diversification grant to convert the current town hall into the new Visitor Information Centre. The $358,000 project would fund renovations including moving the Visitor Centre from the old municipal offices. NDIT covers up to 70 percent, with $250,000 grant sought. The work would begin after the new town hall is built, planned for 2015, and the council notes early application helps secure funds. The centre and Chamber of Commerce now sit on North Access Road beside the Welcome to Chetwynd sign.
