On October 17 Harley Abbey reports a windshield hit on his tractor-trailer along Highway 97 east of Chetwynd. Frank Napoleon of Chetwynd dies in a single vehicle crash on Moberly Hill six kilometers north. Coroner Morris Hayward leads the investigation. A power saw is turned in to RCMP on October 19 with owner to claim on ID.

Suspect foul play in cabin death prompts charges in Dawson Creek
Police found Harvey Robert Desjarlais, about 40, dead in a cabin after a theft probe on October 11. Two suspects, Joseph John Anthony Andrews and Erna Apsassin, both about 40, were arrested near 1 a.m. Sunday and charged with second degree murder. A post mortem is underway in Edmonton. Accused to appear for remand in Dawson Creek Court.
