BC Hydro installs wind tower on Mount Wartenbee near Chetwynd
BC Hydro crews place a 50 metre wind monitoring mast at Mount Wartenbee to study wind speeds for a year with 30 and 50 metre anemometers and a datalogger, adding to nine prior sites as part of a broad green energy program in British Columbia. The Dawson Creek area data, plus Rumble Ridge near Port Alice, feed a wider wind and ocean energy demonstration effort planned for late 2003 and beyond.
