McGinn sentenced in Dawson Creek for assault charge
Robert McGinn of Chetwynd pleaded guilty in Dawson Creek police court to assault occasioning bodily harm and resisting arrest receiving a 90 day sentence. He had appeared in Chetwynd court earlier seeking remand without plea as details of a fracas in which a woman was beaten emerged. Mayor Frank Oberle told the Chamber the regional District is pursuing steps with the federal government to call a referendum in the Peace region on time zone alignment.

Legion Youth Leadership Seminar Highlighted
Jane Rebagliati reported to Legion Zone members on a five day leadership conference at the University of British Columbia sponsored by the Legion. She said the program was excellent and socially rewarding and she watched the B C Lions practice. About 125 students from across Canada attended. Oberle noted Alberta voters moved to Daylight Saving Time and predicted Prince George may surpass Edmonton as a regional hub in the coming years.
