New contract reached for Quintette Coal and Local 115C
Quintette Coal Limited and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115C announce their first collective bargaining agreement after negotiations begun in early July. The union will present the deal to members for ratification next week, with details to be released publicly. The settlement aims to raise member income and security while balancing viability of North Coal Industries in a competitive market, and supports a smooth path for Quintette’s first coal shipment to Japan this December from Peace River area in North East British Columbia.
