First peat bog sewage system used in British Columbia

Aspen Mobile Estates in the Chetwynd area will install a new sewage system using a peat bog to treat effluent from 78 mobile homes. Microbial treatment precedes passage through three septic tanks and into peat bogs, with daily capacity of 15,000 gallons. The Environment Ministry supports the eco friendly, low smell design and will monitor impacts.

Police officer pleads guilty in indecent assault case

Constable Brian David Watson of the Chetwynd RCMP pleaded guilty in Prince George court to two counts of indecent assault in Alberta and one in British Columbia. Two other charges were dropped. The 40 year old officer resigned in the spring. Sentencing set for January 17, 1995.
