Dawson Creek named to launch northeastern BC community college
Dr. Brian Brown is named chairman of the advisory committee to establish a northeastern British Columbia community college. The plan uses Dawson Creek Vocational School facilities with satellites across the region, while reviewing a Downey Report proposal for a federated cross province system. Education Minister Eileen Dailly says the government favors local college development over a costly interprovincial facility, and notes ongoing talks with Alberta on post secondary needs in the Peace River region. The committee includes Barbara Brett of Dawson Creek and others.
