Take Back the Night march in Chetwynd raises violence awareness
The annual event in Chetwynd drew participants with signs and banners to protest violence against women and children. Co organizer Cheryl Widdicombe noted women face higher risks of male partner violence, especially after separation, and pointed out BC reports the highest violence rates. The march links to the global Take Back the Night movement started in 1978 in San Francisco and Vancouver, urging an end to violence worldwide.

Northern Health posts small midyear surplus in 2006 07
