Impedance Bridge Aids Deaf BC Community At Institute
The Western Institute for the Deaf in British Columbia gains an impedance bridge and updated audiology gear funded by a 20000 grant from the Elks Purple Cross Fund Deaf Detection and Development Program. The equipment speeds testing of the ear drum and middle ear bones and helps locate hearing loss for potential surgical correction. The institute serves about 1100 people yearly from Vancouver and Victoria, sharing equipment with the Vancouver Health Department. Further contact details are provided for Vancouver and Victoria offices.
