Regional policing funding eyed for Peace River region
Directors discussed regionalizing police funding in PRRD with potential three year implementation and a possible 25 percent police force cut. An Attorney General workshop in December is planned to explore regional funding, with staff refining tax requisition proposals and concerns about higher costs for smaller communities. Fort St. John and Dawson Creek may pilot the program, while other directors push for input and collaboration.
