Chetwynd Teams Face Weekend Hockey Trials and Triumphs
The 2008-09 hockey season saw Chetwynd Atom Development open with a split in Valleyview, Marissa Nichol, Hunter Mosher and Griffin Young scoring twice. They rebounded to beat Valleyview 6-3 with Nichol and Campbell each netting two, and Young and Campbell contributing further. A Sunday tilt vs Grand Prairie’s B side featured early goals from Campbell and Young, with Mosher adding two, but a late surge by Campbell sealed a 6-3 win. The Pee Wee Rep squad struggled, losing to Beaverlodge 7-1 after a rough game noted by two head-check penalties and Nichol’s ejection, then falling to High Prairie despite McNeil’s early score and Stanger’s strong goaltending.
