Young boy saves mother after highway crash
Two year old Danny Herman helped rescue his mother Pat Herman after a Saturday morning crash between Chetwynd and Willow Flats. The vehicle slid on black ice, leaving Mrs. Herman paralyzed in a ditch for two hours. Danny, with a bloodied nose, reached the road and flagged down help. his mother remained hospitalized in Dawson Creek and District Hospital.

Fire destroys two surface buildings at Sukunka coal mine
A fire at the Sukunka Coalition mine near Chetwynd caused over 500000 in damage, destroying two surface buildings while the workshop burned for hours.
