Chetwynd Recreation Centre renovations on track for March opening
Civic Properties Commission chair Tim Caton says the 7.2 million Chetwynd and District Recreation Complex expansion is on time and on budget. The project adds an arena change area, indoor track, racquetball court, expanded fitness space, climbing wall, viewing area, better food service, wheelchair elevator, and more. Groundbreaking occurred last spring with completion slated March 31 2010. Existing user groups remain active during construction with some inconveniences. Funding comes from district taxes and Electoral Area E borrowings over 20 years.
