Aspen guidelines per Forest Service concerns voiced by local groups
On August 6 in Council Chambers Mayor Lasser and Aldermen heard from Chetwynd Environment Group and representatives from Saulteau and West Moberly Bands plus Forest Service staff. They pressed for Aspen Guidelines, 70 acre back sizes, 100 metre stream buffers, a 15 000 m woodlot research target, a 5 year development plan for Small Business sales, and interim suspensions on timber sales.
