Women's Resource Centre plans grand opening open house

The plan to attend the open house on Friday November 16 from 5 to 8 pm marks the grande opening of the Chetwynd Women’s Resource Centre located beside Darcy’s. Directors meetings are the first Monday of each month at 5 pm. newcomers and potential members are urged to attend. Linda can provide membership details at 788-3793 or visit the Centre.

Council Disappointed By Messmer's Park Access Answers

A letter to Alderman Bettin recounts Chetwynd's delegation pressuring Minister Messmer at the UBCM in September over park accesses. Moberly Lake Provincial Park paving was forwarded to Rita Johnston for consideration. Mess mer cites an estimated $2 million cost for an access road to Gwillim Lake and says it is prohibitive. Sukunka Falls Park will not develop stairs or trails at this time. BC Parks says directional signs on Highway 29 would mislead the public due to no facilities.
