Veneer Plant Under Construction In Chetwynd
Construction starts this week in Chetwynd on a 12 to 2 million dollar Veneer plant by Peace River Veneers Ltd. Full mill operations planned by May 1 1976. The site replaces Armstrong mill and Northern Power Plant Builders storage yard near BCR Station. The venture aims to employ about 600 people and process 25 million FBM logs yearly, mainly Canadian poplar, with initial output around 1.9 million FBM per month.

Moberly Lake to get five AHOP housing units
Moberly Lake will receive five housing units under the Assisted Home Ownership Program through a CMHC and federal progam agreement. If unsold, the National Housing Act Section 40 provision allows federal and provincial governments to offer units to low income families with at least one child.
