Immedia Ltd plans a documentary on the Chetwynd Metis Housing project with Patrick Watson leading the team. Shooting expected within three weeks after two preliminary study visits. The film would be shown to Metis groups as a blueprint and used as a government lobby to influence legislators.
Watson outlines a plan to broadcast a forthcoming film on network television and invites the Chetwynd Metis to actively participate in editing. The project envisions daily color-film processing in Vancouver and returning the developed footage for local screening in community halls or similar venues.
With elections a month away, four hopefuls contest three village alderman seats including Maurice Hayward Emil Breikhetz and Ron Tarr who has left. Newcomers John Stewart and Frank Wood announce bids while Ray Rebagliati may avoid a contest. Mayor Oberle’s seat lacks clear challengers. Nomination deadline is November 29.

B C Tel undertakes a major expansion in Chetwynd raising local lines from 600 to 1000 and long distance lines from 14 to 18 at a cost of about 30000 dollars. Work should finish by November 15 with full seven digit dialing starting that day ahead of direct long distance dialing in December 1972. A trailer serves as the interim exchange building with a permanent plant planned for 1974 or early 1975 costing roughly 509009 dollars to support growth from coal development.
A local television station plans a five to six week shoot at Quinscoe Lake, at 6,800 feet in Cathedral Peace Park southwest of Kereinos in the Cascade Mountains. They will invite Peace country residents to comment after each screening and estimate a base cost of at least $15,000, potentially more.
