In a Oct 29 announcement, Ministry of Municipal Affairs Minister Jim Doyle said Chetwynd will get 75 000 from the water and sewer infrastructure program. Funds will install a system to monitor water and the sewage lift station to prevent overflows into Centurion Creek.
October oil and gas rights sale brought 22 million to the province, third straight month above 20 million. Total since start of sales now 144 million. Sixty three licenses and 30 leases cover 100,363 hectares in northeastern B C, with top bid 1,514 per hectare from Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd for a 836 hectare parcel near Dawson Creek. Western Land Services and Courage Energy also posted top bids. Next sale set for November 17 offering 54 parcels in northeastern B C.
