Rural School Faces Closure If Enrolment Dips Again
Moberly Lake Elementary among schools in School District 59 flagged for possible closure if enrolment stays below 40 in rural sites or 50% capacity in larger schools. The district plans monthly and semiannual reviews, with a February 2010 committee report guiding options, and aims to save about 1.59 million annually by 2011 through closing Parkhill Elementary and selling or repurposing facilities including Grandview and O Brien in Dawson Creek.
