Bear Aware urged for Peace Region residents
Peace residents are urged to be Bear Aware as bears emerge from hibernation seeking natural food like berries and gardens. Sgt. Shawn Brinsky notes conflicts arise from attractants such as pet food, garbage, dirty barbecues, and low bird feeders near forested areas. He warns bears may visit greenbelts and yards seeking easy food.
